New personalization content offered free of charge by Microsoft for customers running Windows 7 is designed to give a little taste of the next version of Gears of War.
The Redmond company has updated the Windows Personalization Gallery with a variety of new themes the previous week, one of them offering a sneak peek at Gears of War 3.
Gamers can now download the theme pack with Gears of War 3 imagery in addition to previous themes that feature imagery from previous released titles of the series.
As you can see from the images included with this article, there are no less than four wallpapers included in the theme pack.
“Prepare your desktop for battle with this Windows 7 theme containing portraits of Marcus Fenix, Dominic Santiago, and Anya Stroud from Gears of War 3. The game blasts onto Xbox in April 2011,” Microsoft stated.
Users of Windows 7 need to simply download the theme and execute it in Windows Explorer. The content will install, and the wallpapers will be available through a customizable slideshow which allows customers to set the pace at which the background images swap one another.
But at the same time, the Gears of War 4 theme pack for Windows 7 brings to the table much more than Windows Aero settings and the four wallpapers featured below.
The theme contains a range of .wav files that will customize various sounds in Windows. In this regard, Windows 7 customers will easily be able to change the startup and shut down sounds associated with the successor of Windows Vista.
